Posting a video at Hot Tin Roof is very easy. Follow these few steps ...
When a video is playing on a site like YouTube, copy the video url from your browser address bar and just paste it into the box that appears when you click the 'Video' icon from the Hot Tin Roof post box toolbar and click OK.
You will have to experiment. Some sites can't use this feature. YouTube does so you can post your own videos here as well as the ones you find elsewhere.
If you can't directly download the video you want us to see, don't worry, you can link the full website page instead. Just copy the website address from your browser address bar, click the 'Link' icon from the Hot Tin Roof post box toolbar and paste the url into the top (url) box. You can give it your own title if you want to by filling in the bottom (label) box, it makes things neater, but it's optional. Click OK.
You can also insert a custom link anywhere in your posts that goes anywhere else by manually using BBCode tags.
The other, even easier method is to us the <embed>embed video code</embed> HTML tags. HTML has been activated for this purpose.
It all looks a little daunting at first, but you can post a video here from anywhere else once you get the hang of it. On it's own or embeded in another page. It can be done.
